What is Myofunctional Therapy?
Myofunctional therapy is a program used to correct the improper function of the tongue and facial muscles. It involved the strengthening of the tongue and facial muscles by teaching you how to engage the muscle to the appropriate position.
Myofunctional therapy can also treat children and start as early as 4 years of age.
Myofunctional Therapy can help with things like:
- Improper position of the lips, tongue and cheeks
- Snoring
- Speech
- TMJ pain
- Tongue Tie
- Sleep Apnea
- Limited opening
- Narrow arches
And more!
What does the therapy program look like?
Myofunctional Therapy starts with a one-hour initial assessment where you will meet with Amanda and she will complete an in-depth questionnaire and examination. Amanda will then put together a treatment plan.
Treatment plans can range from six months to one-year.
